                      Due Dates- October 1 (Fall) or February 1 (Spring and Summer)

Lambda Alpha is a national honor society for Anthropology. As an honor society, Lambda Alpha serves to recognize superiority, providing incentive for exceptional performance by granting certificates of accomplishment. A lifetime membership for Lambda Alpha is $25 (onetime fee).

· Graduate Research Grants available from $2,000 to $5,000 Eligibility Requirements

Application Requirements

· Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in any major

· Completed 12 semester hours of Anthropology courses

· Cumulative overall GPA of at least 2.5

· Average GPA in Anthropology courses of a least 3.0

 

How do I apply to become a member of Lambda Alpha?

If you meet the eligibility requirements, fill out the Lambda Alpha Membership Application Form located at the front desk of the Department of Geography and Anthropology (Social Sciences building, room 4042). The Application Fee must be paid by CHECK or MONEY ORDER. Make the check or money order out to Lambda Alpha. Return the completed form and your check in the envelope under the door of Dr. Gooding’s office (Social Sciences, room 3002) by the due date.

 

Membership application forms for Fall semester are due October 1. If this date falls on a weekend or holiday, the completed application form is due the Friday before. Membership application forms for Spring semester are due February 1. If this date falls on a weekend or holiday, the completed application form is due the Friday before. Applications submitted after the due date will be reviewed for the next cycle.

 

How do I purchase a Lambda Alpha honor stole and/or pin for graduation?

As a member of the society, you can order a satin honor stole and/or a cloisonné pin for your graduation. Wearing a stole or pin looks great in your graduation photos and shows others how much you have accomplished here at KSU. If you would like to purchase a stole ($25) and/or a pin ($10), fill out the Lamba Alpha Graduation Regalia Order Form located at the front desk of the Department of Geography and Anthropology (Social Sciences building, room 4042). Graduation Regalia orders must be paid by CHECK or MONEY ORDER. Make the check or money order out to Lambda Alpha.Return the completed form and your check in the envelope under the door of Dr. Gooding’s office (Social Sciences, room 3002) by the due date.
