Charner Rodgers

Hello I am Dr. Charner Rodgers,

Before coming to Kennesaw State University, I was a project manager for the State of Georgia Department of Transportation. In this position, I served as a Project Manager with projects totaling over a billion dollars. I have been in the construction industry for over twenty years. I am a general contractor in the State of Tennessee as well as a Real Estate Broker. I have built both vertical (commerical, industrial, & residential) and horizontal (interstate, highways, etc) construction.

I received my Ph. D in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology in Architecture and my Master of Engineering in Civil and Environmental from Tennessee State University. My undergrad was from the University of Memphis in Construction Management.

My teaching philosophy is modeled from my learning and teaching experiences as well as my professional experience. During my years as a student, I realized through group projects that students learn in different ways. The ability to accommodate each students learning style is a daunting task for college professors to achieve. With advancements in technology and industry standards, students are no longer engaged in learning through traditional teaching methods. In my classroom, I have developed a teaching philosophy of entertaining while educating using various teaching methods and "real world" experiences.
