Jihye Kim

Jihye Kim, Ph.D. is an associate professor of educational research in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education at the Bagwell College of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in research, measurement, and statistics from the Department of Educational Policy Study at Georgia State University and statistics degrees of her master and bachelor program. Prior to joining KSU, Dr. Kim was a statistical analyst at the American Cancer Society after two years’ IES post-doctoral fellowship at Georgia State University. As a quantitative methodologist, Dr. Kim has participated in several research projects: behavioral and emotional risk screening research, mental health screening, the relationship between tobacco use and educational attainment, etc. Her current research interest lies in evaluating survey instruments’ validity and reliability to provide accurate identification of emotional and behavioral risks in middle and high school students. Also, she is interested in examining the measurement invariance of depression scales.
