Haleh Mehdipour, Ph.D.
Dr. Haleh Mehdipour is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Construction Management
at Kennesaw State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Design, Construction, and Planning,
with a minor in Statistics, from the University of Florida.
Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the intersections of the built environment,
housing and health equity, indoor air quality, environmental justice, and disaster
resilience. Her work integrates computational modeling, agent-based simulation, building
performance assessment, and participatory action research to investigate how housing
conditions, environmental exposures, and construction practices influence occupant
health and community well-being.
With a strong emphasis on environmental justice and community-engaged research, Dr.
Mehdipour examines the social, environmental, and structural inequalities that shape
housing conditions and community vulnerability. Her research seeks to bridge technical
approaches with community knowledge to develop practical, equitable, and sustainable
solutions for healthier buildings and more resilient communities.
Dr. Mehdipour has contributed to interdisciplinary and international research collaborations
addressing indoor environmental quality, post-disaster housing recovery, climate adaptation,
and community resilience. Her work connects research, policy, and practice to inform
decision-making in the built environment and support communities disproportionately
affected by environmental and climate-related challenges.
In her teaching, Dr. Mehdipour emphasizes the integration of construction knowledge,
digital tools, analytical methods, and real-world applications. She is committed to
preparing students to address complex challenges in the construction industry while
promoting innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility.
