Hillary Steiner
Hillary H. Steiner, Ph.D. is Associate Director for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science. At KSU she has taught introductory and educational psychology, a variety of first-year seminars, and graduate courses on the high-school to college transition in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Her current research and professional interests focus on SoTL methodology, support and advocacy, and the application of the science of learning to higher education. Recently, she and Iván Jorrín Abellán have collaborated to create Hopscotch 4-SoTL, a model and web tool that supports the development of thorough research designs for SoTL projects.
Hillary has been active in professional service at the international, national and local level, serving as a Vice President of ISSOTL (US Region), University System of Georgia SoTL Fellows Mentor, Conference Chair of the SoTL Summit, Program Chair for ISSOTL19, and the founder and past chair of the SoTL Special Interest Group of the POD Network in Higher Education. She received the USG Board of Regents’ SoTL Award in 2017.
