Biographical Information
Jenevieve has been teaching art in k-12 schools for over 12 years. She joined Kennesaw State in 2021 and is committed to purposeful and relevant teacher training. Her focus is on methods and strategies that will encourage and support teachers in the classroom. Jenevieve has written and taught two courses for the new MA program in Art and Design at Kennesaw. One course is based on Media Art/New Media, and the other focuses on Contemporary teaching Strategies concentrating on current issues in Art Education.
Jenevieve serves as a volunteer governing board member at Fulton Academy of Science and Technology charter school in Roswell, GA, and has served as the Academic Chair since 2019. Over the past two years, she has consulted for ArtsNOW, a not-for-profit art integration organization. Her contribution range from writing a curriculum that is arts inclusive centering on Media Art for k-8th grade and teaching students face to face incorporating Arts Integrated methods.
Jenevieve believes that students' individuality should be recognized and celebrated, and she is committed to open discussion and research-based in Culturally Sustaining teaching practices. Her most recent research interests lie in exploring personal narratives in teacher education. She believes that when teachers are more aware of their own stories, triumphs, struggles, and beliefs, they are better prepared to connect with, support, and guide their own students.
