Research

Dr. Labriola's research focuses on usability, user-centered design (UCD), user experience (UX), design thinking, and collaboration.

More specifically, he has written articles and presented research about user-generated content in public spaces online, developing new usability testing methods, running design sprints in the classroom, social media marketing for small businesses and nonprofits, cultivating industry partnerships within classroom, 

Currently, he is working on research on a variety of topics, including: design sprints, collaborative app building, improving student experiences and student collaboration, developing and using affordable usability research methods, user experience in virtual reality, and the importance of being "makers" in the technical communication classroom.
