John Stanislawski

After completing his Ph.D. in Musicology at the University of Illinois in May of 2014, Dr. Stanislawski left the frozen midwestern tundra to soak up some warm southern sunshine. Eventually his travels brought him to SPSU, where he now teaches both Music Appreciation and the History of Contemporary American Music.  In addition to teaching, Dr. Stanislawski also serves as the faculty sponsor for the SPSU Band.  

While much of Dr. Stanislawski's time is devoted to research
and teaching, he is also an active musician who plays guitar, sings, and writes songs with a number of groups in the region.
