Junxuan Zhao

Biography

Dr. Junxuan Zhao joined the Department of Information Technology at Kennesaw State University as a limited-term assistant professor in Fall 2023. From 2020 to 2023, she was a postdoctoral researcher with the Center for Urban Informatics and Progress and Texas Tech University. Junxuan received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from Texas Tech University in 2019 and 2018, another M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University in 2015. Her research interests include the Internet of Things (traffic sensing), smart and connected traffic infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems, traffic safety, GIS in transportation, etc. She has been involved in 10+ funded USDOT, NSF, and State DOT (TX, TN, and NV) grant proposal writing and projects, published 25+ research papers in premier academic journals, and presented her studies at core conferences.
