pictureHello, and welcome to my website! Fall 2015 marks my first semester teaching in the Department of Communication at Kennesaw State University, but I have been teaching at the college level since 2004. Previously, I taught at Auburn University, the University of Kentucky, Georgia Highlands College and Southern Polytechnic State University.

I have a PhD in Communication from the University of Kentucky, a MA in Communication from Auburn University, and a BA in Communication Arts: Public Communication from the University of North Alabama. My research interests are in media studies, gender studies, identity construction and management online, communication pedagogy and communication history. I have published in Communication Teacher, the Florida Communication Journal, Kentucky Communication Journal, In Media Res, and most recently published a book chapter on the impact of digital technologies on family communication. I regularly present at and am an active member of local, state, regional and national professional communication organizations including the National Communication Association, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, the Southern States Communication Association, and the Georgia Communication Association.

I'm incredibly passionate about teaching college students in communication, and I happen to love my job as a college professor! I live nearby in Marietta, Georgia. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, eating, traveling, and spending time with my friends & family. I'm an amateur endurance athlete, always training for (and competing in!) triathlons, road races, trail runs, and open-water swims.
