Melissa C. Osborne, PhD, MPH

Dr. Melissa Osborne is an Assistant Professor in the Wellstar School of Nursing in the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University. An epidemiologist and prevention scientist by training, her research is in pediatric violence and injury prevention, with a focus on the types of injuries that occur in the home environment, such as unintentional injuries and suicide. She studies factors associated with these issues and parent-focused strategies to prevent them and has a special interest in parents' firearm storage behaviors. Her work incorporates novel uses of technology, such as immersive virtual reality, in the development of interventions to prevent injury.
