Melissa C. Osborne, PhD, MPH
Dr. Melissa Osborne is an Assistant Professor in the Wellstar School of Nursing, Wellstar College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University. An epidemiologist and prevention scientist by training, her research is in pediatric violence and injury prevention, with a focus on the types of injuries that occur in the home environment, especially firearm-related injuries. She studies factors associated with firearm-related outcomes and parent-focused strategies to prevent child injury. Her work incorporates novel uses of technology, such as immersive virtual reality, in the development of interventions. Additionally, she is the Lead Evaluator for the SAMHSA-funded National Center on Child Trafficking. Navigate to the "Research" tab to learn more.
