Mary Dioise Ramos, PhD, RN, CNE
Dr. Mary Dioise Ramos, an Associate Professor at Kennesaw State University Wellstar School of Nursing, is an accomplished educator and scholar. Her academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, complemented by being a Certified Nurse Educator from the National League for Nursing. Dr. Ramos is a Research Scientist funded by the NIH-Asian Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) and the Alzheimer’s Association. She’s also the Academic Research Collaborator within the Georgia “Nayon” of the Filipino-American Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (FAP-COR) network and the current Education Chair of the Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc.
Dr. Ramos’s impact reaches far and wide, with a prolific scholarly publication record on nursing, aging, dementia, and health behavior. She’s also the Managing Editor and Website Administrator of Photovoice for Nurses and an Editorial Board Member of the Gerontology and Geriatrics Education Journal. She has shared her expertise through national and international presentations, earning accolades like the Georgia Asian Times Valiant Award in 2019 and the 2020 Excellence in Research recognition from the Philippine Nurses Association of America. Additionally, her dedication to education is evident as she was honored as a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence in 2021. She was acknowledged with the Florence Nightingale Award in 2022 by the Philippine Nurses Association of Georgia, Inc., and received the 2023 Wellstar College Faculty Award from Kennesaw State University, highlighting her exemplary contributions to education, research, and community service.
