The University System of Georgia Momentum Year Award for Excellence in Teaching is designed to honor teaching and instruction that promotes student achievement, promotes a purposeful program and career choice, and creates an environment where positive academic mindsets thrive, catapulting students toward degree completion. Excellence in teaching first-year students is critical to increasing student retention, progression, and graduation. Incorporating high-impact practices in order to create transformative experiences intended to deepen learning as a part of the first college year is central to this Momentum year award.

Excellence in Teaching First-Year Seminars Award, National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. (November 26, 2018).

The National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience, along with Penguin Random House Publishing, awards the Excellence in Teaching First-Year Seminars Award to one exceptional teacher at the Annual Conference on the First-Year Experience. Award recipients will have achieved great success in teaching first-year seminars and continue to inspire student learning, development, and success.

SWCA Tutor Awards recognize leadership, commitment, and overall excellence of individuals working in an SWCA writing center. 

Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award. Center for Teaching and Learning Georgia Institute of Technology. (March 2012).

Awards are given based on course evaluation scores measuring teaching effectiveness over the course of three years. Nominations are not accepted for these awards.

Donald and Hélène White Prize for Best Humanities Dissertation, Boston College. (May 1, 2009).

Award recognizes the most outstanding dissertation in the field of humanities and social sciences during a given year.
