Soon Lee
Dr. Soon C. Lee is an Associate Professor of Science Education in the Department of Elementary and
Early Childhood Education at Kennesaw State University. He teaches undergraduate and
graduate science education courses (e.g., Physical Science for Elementary Classrooms,
Interdisciplinary STEM Education). Dr. Lee’s funded projects include Space Sciences
Hands-On Activities and Practices for Middle School Classrooms Using NASA Education
Resources funded by the NASA Space Grant Consortium, STEM Professional Partnership
Program (SP3) for Urban Elementary Teachers funded by Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ)
program, Coaching for Sustainability: Peer Coaching Science Inquiry in Rural Schools
funded by Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ) program, and Use of Blended Hands-on and
Interactive Simulation Practices to Improve Pre-Service Teachers’ Conceptual Understanding
in Science funded by University Research/Creative Projects Award. For the funded projects,
as PI or Co-PI, Dr. Lee developed PD materials such as conceptual models, curriculum,
assessment and evaluation tools, and project activities for the participant teachers.
Dr. Lee has shared the results and findings from the studies in peer-reviewed journal
articles and presentations at international and national conferences.
