Short Bio: Yong Pei is Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia. Prior to his current appointment in 2022, he was the LexisNexis Ohio Eminent Scholar, Professor and Graduate Program Director of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Director of the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering Program at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, that he joined as an assistant professor in 2003. From 2002 to 2003, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. He has been responsible for teaching and research in computer science, data science and system engineering.

Yong received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and his BS degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1996. He also received a Certificate of Technology Commercialization from The Ohio Department of Higher Education through the I-Corps@Ohio program in 2017.
