Sherif Masoud

Dr. Sherif A. Masoud is a Part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at KSU. Dr. Masoud earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University in 2014. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the AUC School of Business (2011), as well as an MSIE (2004) and BSME (2002) from the American University in Cairo. Dr. Masoud is a certified Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute (2008). He has been working full-time in the Operations Research area at WestRock (starting 2014) then at Koch Industries (starting 2022) in Atanta, Georgia. In his full-time role, Dr. Masoud designs, develops, analyzes and maintains optimization models for supply chain design, planning and scheduling. Prior to that, he was a supply chain doctoral researcher working closely with industrial partners. Dr. Masoud also has work experience at several companies, such as a BMW manufacturing plant. His areas of interest include optimization, machine learning, supply chain, manufacturing systems and project management. Dr. Masoud has part-time teaching experience at the University of Cincinnati in addition to other schools. He started teaching at KSU in Fall 2018.
