Dr. Sherif A. Masoud is a Part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at KSU. Dr. Masoud obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University in 2014. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the AUC School of Business (2011), as well as an MSIE (2004) and BSME (2002) from the American University in Cairo. Dr. Masoud is a certified Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute (2008). He has been working full-time in the Operations Research area at WestRock in Atanta since 2014. At WestRock, he designs, develops, analyzes and maintains optimization models for supply chain planning and scheduling. Prior to that, he was a supply chain doctoral researcher working closely with industrial partners. Dr. Masoud also has work experience at several companies in Egypt, such as a BMW manufacturing plant. His areas of interest include applied operations research, supply chain, manufacturing systems and project management. Dr. Masoud has part-time teaching experience at the University of Cincinnati in addition to other schools. He started teaching at KSU in Fall 2018.
