April Johnson

Welcome! I joined Kennesaw State University as an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the fall of 2015. Before this my academic appointments included positions as a Visiting Assisant Professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and as a graduate instructor at Stony Brook University.

Originally trained as a social psychologist, my early academic foundation prompted subsequent interests in the application of psychological concepts to political outcomes. Today my research focuses on a variety of contextual and psychological mechanisms that influence electoral behavior, citizen engagement, and political communication.
