Cody A. Mashburn
I am Dr. Cody Mashburn, a cognitive psychologist and assistant professor in KSU’s Department of Psychological Science. My research concerns the relationships between attention, cognitive control, memory, and reasoning. I incorporate multiple approaches to better understand individual differences in higher-order cognitive processes, including experimental and psychometric methods and statistical modeling.
Much of my work is concerned with defining and measuring individual differences in the top-down control of attention. Some other interests include uncovering the neurocognitive basis of general intelligence, especially as pertains to working memory capacity, attention control, and processing speed, but my interests sometimes cross over into industrial/organizational psychology and psychological assessment. My work consistently appears in high-impact journals, including Intelligence, the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and Psychological Review.
