Research

Dr. Guerra-Zubiaga understands the business model at manufacturing industries and the significance of new technology to improve particular Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) aspects. This based on 11 years working at leading companies at Research and Development (R&D) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) Processes. Dr. Guerra-Zubiaga's expertise allows him to understand how the new technology affects the creation of novelty products providing competitive advantage at manufacturing industries.

The research Dr. Guerra-Zubiaga has pursued over the last 15 years has primarily been concerned with topics in the area of Next Generation Manufacturing Systems (NGMS), with particular emphasis to explore design methodologies linked with manufacturing knowledge management to improve the Product Development Process (PDP). His research work has been contributed industry supporting flexible, reconfigurable, and smart manufacturing systems. For example, he has contributed significant research for knowledge models exploring tacit knowledge representations to create new Knowledge Based Engineering Systems (KBES) at PLM environment.

Dr. Guerra-Zubiaga's main expertise is leading challenging research projects exploring new technologies to support the next generation of manufacturing systems optimizing resources, processes and strategies applying new product realization technologies.
