Dr. Đorđe (Djordje) Klisura is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Security in the Coles College of Business in the Dept. of Information Systems and Security. His research focuses on trustworthy artificial intelligence, natural language processing, cybersecurity, and data analytics, with particular interest in the security, reliability, and responsible deployment of AI systems.

Dr. Klisura earned his Ph.D. in Information Technology with a focus on Cybersecurity from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He also holds an M.Sc. in Data Science and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Primorska in Slovenia. His academic experience includes research appointments at Louisiana State University and Johns Hopkins University, where he served as a Data Science for Social Good Fellow.

Dr. Klisura has received several honors for his research and teaching. In 2025, he was named Ph.D. Student of the Year by both the UT San Antonio Alvarez College of Business and the Department of Information Systems and Cyber Security. In 2026, he received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award as the top graduate instructor in UT San Antonio’s College of AI, Cyber and Computing.

Dr. Klisura is also active in professional service and has served as a reviewer for conferences and journals including ICIS, ACL, EMNLP, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, and IEEE Access.
