Hillary Steiner

Hillary SteinerHillary H. Steiner, Ph.D. is the Associate Director for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Psychological Science. At KSU she has taught first-year seminars, introductory and educational psychology, and graduate courses in student development in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Her current research and professional interests include metacognition, self-regulated learning, and SoTL support and advocacy. Recently, she and Iván Jorrín Abellán have collaborated to create Hopscotch 4-SoTL, a model and tool for generating research designs for SoTL projects. 

Hillary has been active in professional service at the international, national and local level, serving as a Vice President of ISSOTL (US Region), University System of Georgia SoTL Fellows Mentor, Conference Chair of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Summit, Program Chair for ISSOTL19, and the founder and past chair of the SoTL Special Interest Group of the POD Network in Higher Education. She received the USG Board of Regents’ SoTL Award in 2017.
