Javad Khazaii is professor of mechanical engineering technology in the Engineering Technology (ET) department of Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET) at the Kennesaw State University (KSU), Marietta. He received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Computer Information Systems (CIS) from Georgia State University, Atlanta, and Ph.D. in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology (GT), Atlanta.

He has more than 25 years of experience as consulting HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) engineer, and has been teaching as adjunct faculty (9 years), and full time associate professor / full professor (6 years) in Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology. He has authored two books (Energy efficient HVAC design - An essential guide for sustainable building) and (Advanced decision making for HVAC engineers - Creating energy efficient smart buildings) and co-authored the third book (Fundamentals of renewable energy). He has been continuously ranked among top scholars in engineering field of mechanical engineering with specialty of heating, ventilation and air conditioning by ScholarGPS (The latest rank is 10th scholar in the U.S. and 26th scholar globally in 2025).
