Research Agenda
My research examines how hospitality and tourism organizations create value, manage assets, develop sustainable business models, and respond to technological, financial, environmental, and community challenges. I approach hospitality as a business discipline that connects real estate, finance, operations, entrepreneurship, analytics, and human experience.

A central theme in my work is the relationship between hospitality strategy and organizational performance. My research on hotel real estate investment, lodging REITs, valuation, asset management, franchising, and financial performance explores how owners, operators, investors, and managers make decisions in complex lodging markets. A related stream examines sustainability, corporate governance, environmental citizenship, and the ways hospitality firms communicate, measure, and deliver environmental and social value.

I also study the future of hospitality education and innovation. Current and recent work explores community-based tourism, entrepreneurship education, sustainable finance, AI, robotics, blockchain, phygital tourism, hospitality analytics, and curriculum models that prepare students for emerging industry demands.
