Marina Koether, Ph.D.
Welcome.
I am the Interim Department Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for the academic year 2024-2025.
My area of research utilizes my knowledge in Environmental, Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Instruments that I use are the SEM, ICP-OES, GC-MS, ultra-HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, Contact Angle. Particle Size Analyzer and XRF.
Below are projects that I am interested in pursuing in the future:
Please note that I do not have any funding.
1) studying the utility of a particle size analyzer and SEM on nano and microplastic analysis, and sand analysis as related to absorption of metals.
2) studying the effect of microplastics on the phytoremediation of lead by switchgrass.
3) studying dynamic versus static homework assignment on student learning.
4) studying the dissolution of common OTC drugs through team based learning.
