My area of research utilizes my knowledge in Environmental, Analytical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.  Instruments that I use are the ICP-OES, GC-MS, ultra-HPLC, FTIR,  UV-Vis, Contact Angle and XRF.

Below are my current projects:

1) mapping microplastics in Lake Allatoona both in the sand and in the water.  This is a multiyear study. This is suitable for undergraduates

2) studying the photodegradation of plastics by  contact angle and carbonyl index (FTIR). This is a MS Student's thesis.

3) mapping the metal content (ICP-OES) of the springs of north GA. This is a MS Student's thesis. 

4) mapping the metal content (XRF) of Lake Allatoona sand. This is suitable for undergraduates

5) examining intermolecular forces through the effect of organics, pH, salts on the dissolution of isomalt (candy). This is suitable for undergraduates

6) studying the absorption of lead (ICP-OES and XRF) onto pristine and aged fabric. This is suitable for undergraduates or a new MS Student

7) studying the microplastic content of sand from Jekyll Island and the metal content via XRF and ICP-OES to compare the two methods. This is suitable for undergraduates
