Pete Rorabaugh

No Photo Dr. Pete Rorabaugh  is Assistant Professor of English in the English, Technical Communication, and Media Arts Department at SPSU. He earned an M.A. in English Education and a Ph.D. in American Literature and Rhetoric, both from Georgia State University, Atlanta. His research interests span the fields of contemporary American fiction, religious rhetoric, networked culture, and the intersection of digital and critical pedagogy.

Pete is interested in exploring critical uses of social media and new media composition in the classroom. His teaching is informed by the field of critical pedagogy and the work of Paulo Freire. His research fuses these interests and includes the study of games, digital literacies, and alternatives to traditional models of schooling and scholarship. He is fascinated by the fiction of Cormac McCarthy, the films of the Coen Brothers, and the life Malcolm X.
