Lecturer: Chemistry

Hello! I've been teaching chemistry since 2013, and at KSU since 2024. My graduate work at KSU (2012-2013) and Cal State LA (2021-2023) was in the field of chemical education. As a lecturer, my primary focus is on teaching. I also enjoy using my classroom as a laboratory, constantly learning from and with my students to create the best educational experience I can.

Part of my teaching philosophy is that all of my students are capable of learning chemistry. Chemistry is a subject that must be practiced, much like any sport you would learn. Anyone can learn how to do it, but time has to be given to the subject. Before you take a chemistry course, make sure that you have enough time in your weekly schedule for the work. I recommend 9-10 hours per week outside of class time during Spring/Fall semesters and 18-20 hours per week outside of class time during an 8-weeek Summer session.
