Reza Vaezi

Reza Vaezi is the Department of Information Systems & Security Ph.D. Program Discipline Lead and a Professor of Information Systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, an MSc In Management Information Systems, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering.

He is a scholar of human affect, cognition, and behavior. His past research focused on satisfaction theories, satisfaction measurement, and the adoption of emerging technologies. More recently, he has been researching the possibility of conscious and empathic artificial intelligence (AI) and the implications of such a phenomenon for human morality and ethics. Additionally, he is an advocate of the Primacy of Affect perspective in explaining and predicting human behavior and human relationship with AI. He is also an avid photographer and a lover of philosophical and theological readings and discussions.
