Research

My primary research interest is enumerative combinatorics, MSC primary 05.  I enjoy enumeration, finding new combinatorial identities, and determining properties such as log-concavity and P-recursiveness.  Pattern avoidance is another main area of interest, as well as permutation statistics.  Finally, I dabble in combinatorial game theory.

In addition to my formal scholarship, I am also active in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.  I am always seeking to improve my teaching, and formalize and share my techniques as research in this area.  Examples of such projects include writing in the math classroom, best practices in homework assignments, and the Honors classroom.
