My pic Dr. Terry Carter is a Professor of English. He completed his doctoral work in English with an emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric at The University of South Carolina (USC) in 2002; his dissertation is entitled Textual and Personal Representations of African Americans in Composition and Rhetoric. At Kennesaw State University, he teaches first-year composition, literature surveys, ethics, and writer’s workshop courses; he also teaches online courses through The University of Georgia’s collaborative programs. He is currently a member of CCCC’s Language Policy Committee, and his research investigates representations of African Americans in the field of composition and rhetoric and how online composition courses impact student’s writing and identity in virtual classrooms.
