Research

Dr. Glover directs the Affective Neuroscience Laboratory at KSU, an interdisciplinary research and teaching program that primarily examines biological factors (e.g., sex and steroid hormones) and environmental factors (e.g., exposure to trauma, racism, or other adversities), associated with risk for psychiatric illness in a healthy population of primarily young adults. She is currently the PI on an NIH R15 grant project that uses translational models of conditioned fear and anxiety to characterize the mechanisms by which ovarian steroid hormones regulate fear- and anxiety-related behaviors in women. Dr. Glover’s background in translational neuroscience research began with using rodent models of fear learning and memory and using tools in psychophysiology and neuroimaging to characterize biomarkers of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in people with high risk for trauma exposure.
