Usability Lab
Lab Overview
Welcome to the Usability Lab at Kennesaw State University, housed in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design within the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Usability Lab is designed to enhance experiential learning and cutting-edge research through usability studies and qualitative data collection. Equipped with a range of modern tools and technologies, the lab provides an optimal environment for evaluating digital products, interfaces, and learning technologies.
Facilities and Equipments
PCs, computer set-ups (both basic and VR-ready PCs), iPads, audio-video recording instruments, eye-tracking devices, Meta Quest 3 headsets, and participant seating space. We also have a control room set-up within the Usability Lab for one-on-one sessions or to observe participants while they work on the task in the general lab space.
Research and Educational Opportunities
The Usability Lab facilitates a range of activities, including:
- Usability testing for websites, mobile apps, and software interfaces.
- Virtual reality experience design and user feedback studies.
- Qualitative research methods such as contextual inquiries, interviews, and focus groups.
- Data collection for user experience research, including eye-tracking and video analysis.
