Modupe Akintomide

headshotDr. Akintomide (Adewuyi)'s research main domain is rooted in 'At-risk" populations, with subdomains in aging, evidence-based and technologica-driven interventions, and a special interest in individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias with their care partners. Within this main domain, she investigates the multifaceted relationship between socio-ecological contexts, psychosocial determinants, interventions, and quality of care.

Utilizing community -based participatory research principles, mixed-methods research design, equity-centered design, behavioral science,  and psychometric approaches informed by social science theories, she seeks to elucidate the direct and indirect pathways through which these factors contribute to socio-economic and health disparities. Also, through interprofessionl and international collaborations, she seeks to co-develop and evaluate digital tools, assistive technologies, and innovative care models that ensures that emerging solutions are not only effective but also practical, sustainable, and relevant for diverse populations. Through funded projects, her significant contributions to the field are evident through publications in high rated peer-reviewed journals, books, and professional conferences.
