Madalynn Marshall
Assistant Professor Dr. Madalynn Marshall
College of Science and Mathematics
Dr. Madalynn Marshall joined the department of chemistry and biochemistry in the Fall
semester of 2023. Her research goals are to investigate the structure property relationships
of functional magnetic materials for sustainable and renewable energy conversion,
transfer and storage applications. A major direction of her research is to understand
the interplay between the magnetocaloric effect and geometrically frustrated magnetic
systems for sustainable magnetic cooling technology. Dr. Marshall utilizes both X-ray
and neutron diffraction techniques in order to characterize the structure of these
materials and analyzes the magnetic, electrical, and thermal properties using a Physical
Property Measurement System.
