Research
Design of functional magnetic material for sustainable and renewable energy conversion, transfer and storage applications.
- Given the major issues we face today like energy generation, consumption, storage and supply security, new functional materials for next-generation energy conversion and storage systems are in demand.
- In this research we investigate the structure-property relationships or the interplay between spin, charge and structure of different solid-state functional magnetic materials using X-ray and neutron diffraction techniques and a Physical Property Measurement system to analyze the magnetic, electrical and thermal properties.

Magnetocaloric Materials
Improving clean sustainable refrigeration technology through a phenomenon known as the magnetocaloric effect (MCE). Here we tune the magnetic behavior in the geometrically frustrated lattices to enhance the MCE to replace harmful refrigerants currently used in refrigeration technologies. These materials can provide more efficient and sustainbale options for cryogenic temperature for hydrogen liquefaction.
