Assistant Professor of Biology
Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology
Quantitative ecologist, conservation biologist, and biostatistician.
Welcome to the Green Quantitative Ecology lab (QuantEco)! Our lab uses cutting-edge statistical and mathematical tools to explore the relationships between living things and our changing world. We are primarily focused on animals, especially vertebrates like the squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) and human (Homo sapiens) at right. Our research spans the real and virtual worlds: projects in the QuantEco lab involve everything from field sampling and bench science to data analysis and simulation modeling. Use the links at left to explore the lab's research. You can also find information about the courses I teach.
We just concluded an intense summer of field sampling in 2024, and are already gearing up for 2025. If you are a KSU undergraduate interested in gaining field and lab research experience with animals, reach out by email so we can discuss details. There are many levels of involvement available, from volunteer to research for credit (BIOL 3110L or 4400).
