Biology 3350- Exam 2 Information

Exam II is worth 125 points and will consist of 4 or 5 questions (one matching, the other short essays). For exam II, emphasize your notes. Make sure you can define all terms/names used in class and those given for Quiz 2. Be prepared to produce properly labeled diagrams. You need to know all the major tissue types, where they are found and what they do. Be able to draw and discuss the function of the parts of a typical pharyngeal segment. You need to know the cranial nerves (both Roman numberals and names) that innervate these segements. You are responsible for the material about the post-cranial axial skeleton (but not the appendicular skeleton - that will be covered on the final exam). Know about the evolution of the cranium including the evolution of jaws. Be able to discuss anatomical changes in reference to major evolutionary events (e.g., evolution of craniates; evolution of gnathostomes; water-to-land transition).

Make sure you know the following terms  what is the basic function of each tissue type and where is it found. Click on them to see some tables I have developed for you for more details. These tables are fair game for the next exam and/or final. See also your text for more info.
