Welcome!

I am Tyra Burton, a Senior Lecturer of Marketing, and I started at KSU in 2003. My background is in digital content creation and marketing. In the past, I have worked with musicians, game designers, authors, retail brands, and non-profits to sharpen their missions and digital presence. I started podcasting over a decade ago and have co-authored fiction and non-fiction books. I primarily teach social media marketing, advanced social media marketing, marketing consulting, and entertainment marketing.  My research focuses on pop culture and social media.

I am a native Georgian and grew up in Stone Mountain before settling down in Kennesaw with my husband and our fur babies. I did my undergraduate studies at Georgia State University and graduate work at The Georgia Institute of Technology.
