About the PI
Michael Stollenz received his Diploma in Chemistry (equivalent to M.S.) from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany) in 1998. As a Graduate Fellow (Landesgraduiertenstipendiat) of the Free
State of Thuringia, he earned his doctoral degree in Jena with Professor Dirk Walther in 2003. He was then a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Research
Training Network (RTN) “AC3S- Asymmetric Catalysis using Three-Fold Symmetry” of the
European Union with Professor Pascual Lahuerta at the University of Valencia (Spain).
In 2006, he joined the group of Professor Franc Meyer at the Georg-August-University Göttingen (Germany) working in the field of organocopper chemistry. Subsequently, in 2008,
he moved to the US to join Professor John A. Gladysz’s group at Texas A&M University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and was promoted to an Assistant Research Scientist
and Lecturer at Texas A&M University in 2012.
In August 2015, he joined Kennesaw State University as Assistant Professor and was
promoted to an Associate Professor with tenure in March 2021.
His research interests focus on oligonuclear complexes of the late 3d and 4d transition
metals and their applications in materials sciences and homogeneous catalysis.
